About
MidCoast is the Local Government Area established 12 May 2016 representing the Gloucester (Gloucester), Great Lakes (Forster) and Manning (Taree) regions. MidCoast is located on the NSW coast between Newcastle and Port Macquarie. The pristine coastline spans 190km from Tea Gardens in the south to Crowdy Head in the north. Inland, the area extends from the Karuah River in the south, west to Barrington Tops and north to John’s River. MidCoast’s natural assets also include impressive lake systems and large areas of National parks, forests and rich rural land. The region is home to the Biripi and Worimi traditional owners.
